Popular Purple Sharpener Makes it's Debut Today!! #QuietSharpeners

I first introduced to you one of my favorite products EVER a little over two years ago. Since then I personally have watched 50 teachers in my daughters school personally get one for their classrooms. What is this product you ask? Only the Quietest Pencil Sharpener Ever by Classroom Friendly Supplies. My friend, a kindergarten teacher originally told me about these fantastic, wonderful, QUIET, pencil sharpeners. I didn't believe her. A quiet sharpener is a teacher's dream, right my friends? Anything to avoid classroom interruptions.
So, like any curious blogger/homeroom mom/PTA member, I set about on some teacher research during teacher appreciation week back in 2013. I requested to do a review and was approved. The owner of Classroom Friendly Supplies,Troy Decoff, is an elementary school teacher himself.  He first started selling these sharpeners after realizing that many fellow teachers were also completely fed up with the loud and inefficient pencil sharpeners that they had in their classrooms. Oh I remember those terrible, noisy, messy manual sharpeners, the only ones that truly work when sharpened. I HATE my electric one that we use at home. We had to jab the pencil so far in and it eats half the pencil before it gets sharp. I detest even more when my son tries to do homework in an ink pen. Anyway, Troy responded to my request and told me that I was exactly the type of person they were looking for to review the sharpener. That was the beginning of my love for a pencil sharpener.
And TODAY.....
I get to introduce to you a brand new color Popular Purple!!

Popular Purple is available for the first time on the Classroom Friendly Supplies website today. Customer's asked and they delivered. This sharpener is a beauty. And of course performs like a dream. I was pretty excited to add another one to my household. My kids wouldn't leave my other one alone.

Halo Heaven: My New Favorite Site for Dress Up, Accessories & Craftiness

The 4-Crow's blog uses affiliate links, please see the Disclosures Policy page for more details.

Last Friday the mail lady brought a box to our door. A box for me to play with and Miss K to wear. A box from my new favorite site- Halo Heaven. Halo Heaven is a place to get all of your party and dress-up accessories at wholesale prices without buying the wholesale bulk.

They sent Miss K a pettiskirt, fairy wings, a tiara, a wand, a set of bows and a ribbon halo. Talk about a box of treats. We had so much fun playing dress up and taking pictures. She is preparing for her annual ballet recital this week so we had a great excuse to get into costume, hair and makeup. I love these moments. It was hard not to share all 40 or so pictures in this post, she just radiated cuteness and beauty.

Halo Heaven is running a CRAZY sale right now. I mean CRAZY. Use code CRAZY50 to get 50% off your order. (Sale does exclude items in the custom embroidery dept, halos, wands, gift cards and log furniture.) Also, there is free shipping on orders over $30 in the continental U.S.

I absolutely adore their blog. They have such creative ideas. Right up my alley. And ALL of the supplies are carried on their site. What about making a tutu Easter basket out of one of their tutus? Click on this link to see what I am talking about.

Whether you have a boy, girl or just a hankering to get crafty, you can get all of the style and accessories from one place, my new favorite place: Halo Heaven.

Must-Have Marvin Book Review

The second title in the Shine Bright Kids series, Must-Have Marvin!, teaches children that people are more important than things.

"Marvin loves new things -- he especially loves finding the latest, greatest, most awesome new things! Soon Marvin finds himself focusing on a new toy that he wants, to the exclusion of his friends. He lets them down when they need his help and nearly loses their friendship. Through a chat with a wise neighbor and a second chance to help, Marvin learns the important life lesson that people are more important than things." Ages 4-

What an amazing book! I read this with my 7yr old daughter last night. We both loved the interactive activity (discussion) that came with each page turn. In a time when we are focusing on comprehension and reading, this was much needed. The life lesson of needing people in our lives versus things is a lesson all ages need to be reminded of at times. I will be taking this to my daughter's first grade class after Spring Break to read.

The author, Christy Ziglar, is a financial planner, mother of twins. She is the niece of legendary motivator and the world’s original optimist, Zig Ziglar. She is bringing the same timeless wisdom and ageless advice to an entirely new, younger audience through her new Shine Bright Kids picture book series. If you didn't see my review on her first book Can't Wait Willow, be sure to look it up. It was named Children’s & Teens Book of the Year” by BookGateway.com.

I love the characters in these books, but as I mentioned above there is an interactive, very expressive character in these books- Ziggle (you don't necessarily know this stars name, I just do from research, the author's website has great resources to support the book ). Ziggle is a star, he wants everybody to shine their brightest. He gets super excited, happy and bright when good, careful choices are made. If he sees someone making a bad choice, it makes him very sad. I love stars. I love when we SHINE!

This book is recommended for ages 4-8, but like I said adults will even benefit from the reading of this one!

About Shine Bright Kids:
The Shine Bright Kids series provides children and their families with a relevant framework to help instill solid values and teach the importance of making good choices. The principles that will be explored include: using good judgment, taking responsibility, having a positive attitude, and demonstrating perseverance.

About the Illustrator: Thanks to her first grade teacher, who recognized her superior skills in drawing a robin, Luanne Marten has been drawing, painting and sketching ever since. She is a great experimenter and has a fresh, whimsical approach to bring her characters to life.

Be sure to check out Must-Have Marvin! (Shine Bright Kids series). It will be a great addition to your child's library.
