A Perfect Pet for Peyton and The 5 Love Languages of Children Book Set Review & #Giveaway

I am so excited about these two new books I have been asked to review and giveaway to one of my readers. I probably should offer them as separate giveaways, but since I am using them as a family, I think my readers should also.

The illustrations in "A Perfect Pet for Peyton are beautiful. The pages interact with their reader through discovery, for example:
Can you find these underwater creatures?
Starfish, Great White Shark, Blue Whale, Dolphin, Seahorse, Clown Fish, Stingray, Surgeon Fish, Jellyfish, and Schooling Bannerfish.
How fun is that?
At the end of the book is a 5 Love Languages Quiz for children.

About the book:

"This wonderfully imaginative children’s hardcover book by bestselling authors Gary Chapman and Rick Osborne, featuring four-color illustrations (with hidden details!) by Wilson Williams, Jr., will help children learn the importance of love. Based on Gary’s highly successful The 5 Love Languages®, A Perfect Pet for Peyton tells an entertaining and playful story of five children who each, with the help of Mr. Chapman and the unique pets at his special emporium, discover their own personal love language. Children and parents alike will experience firsthand the power of the love languages as they cuddle up and spend precious time together reading this book over and over again."

*Free interactive app with in-book experience COMING SOON to the Apple App Store. Visit this link to be notified of its release.

My husband and I have started reading the next book together. Parenting can be a challenge, and since the first book has been strengthening marriages for 20 years, we look forward to the understanding of our children better. After we finish this one, we are going to bring out the original The 5 Love Languages and discover our own personal languages.
(I have read this book, but WE haven't.)

About the book:

"To be their best, children need to feel loved. But if you and your child speak different love languages, your affection might get lost in translation, affecting the child’s attitude, behavior, and development. Dr. Gary Chapman’s groundbreaking Five Love Languages series has helped millions of couples communicate love more clearly, and Dr. Ross Campbell M.D. has applied the innovative system to children as well. The 5 Love Languages of Children gives practical suggestions for learning how your children interpret love and creating a sense of security in which they can thrive."

Now, which one of my readers wants this set of books? All I require is a comment and of course extra entries can be obtained through the Rafflecopter form (just hit Read More to find it, if the form is not present. If no comment is left I will have to delete all entries)

PW and Me

I finally got to meet Ree in real life!
Yes, I am a bit of a PW stalker- Blog, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and of course Food Network!
Her latest cookbook, The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Food from My Frontier was released March 13th and immediately I ordered TWO- one for me and one for my bestie!
She held a book signing at Cain's Ballroom last night and of course we made a date for a GNO!
Yes, we waited in line FOREVER, and we were fortunate enough to get bumped from the "D" line to the "B" line. DO NOT wear boots if you are going to one of her signings-lesson learned!
It was great being there with my bestie, a cousin, and a few of my followers.
I just wish "My Tonya" could have been there, but I did get her book signed for her!

Ree signing the cookbook!

Me and Ree

Ree signed my cookbook- "Love to ShaRhonda and Kaybrie"

Did I mention that the Marlboro Man was there? Oh yes, he is a sweetheart. He signed the books also! He deserves a special pan of brownies for his spotlight last night.

Oh and Cowboy Josh....
He's single, I think!
Do you follow The Pioneer Woman? She has several more stops on her book signing tour
While your there, pick me up a copy of Charlie the Ranch Dog- they sold the last copy to the person in front of me!

The Woodcarver DVD Review & Giveaway

The 4-Crow's were blessed with the opportunity to watch another fantastic Christian family movie this past weekend. I cannot emphasize enough how nice it is to have a DVD playing in my living room that ALL four of us can sit down and watch, and not have to worry about innuendos or language. It is also wonderful to see a film that contains a Christian family that shares our same faith and values and to see how God WILL prevail, reveal, and protect if you just believe and pray. Already this week, it has made everyone of us reflect upon the simple letters WWJD in our actions and decisions. Also, throughout the movie I couldn't help but keep hearing the words "persistent prayer" whispered in my ear. You will have to let me know if you hear a voice.

I am so excited that I get to offer one of my readers this very same movie.
The Woodcarver, which releases Tuesday, March 13, 2012 can also be purchased through ChristianCinema.com.

Here is a little more about the movie from the cover:

"Matthew Stevenson is a troubled kid from a broken home. When he vandalizes the local church to get back at his parents, Matthew has to repair the damage to the church to avoid criminal charges. While working at the church, he meets Ernest (John Ratzenberger), an accomplished wood carver who created the intricate woodwork decoration that Matthew destroyed. Ernest has become something of a hermit, but reluctantly comes out of reclusion to help repair the church. Now Ernest and Matthew must work together to preserve the church's beautiful antiquity, and along the way, they also manage to restore their faith in God and in life."

Now, who wants to own a copy of this movie to add to their DVD collection?
All you have to do is leave me a comment below telling me who you will watch this movie with.
Then fill out the easy Rafflecopter entry form. Five extra entries can be obtained just by following the Rafflecopter entry form.

The Art of Marriage Ops- a Marriage Conference for the Military

I have never been to a marriage conference as a married person. Have you? I attended Solomon's Song with my cousins during a weekend retreat. That was something else! Today at church they announced that "The Church" at BattleCreek- we have kind of a new name will soon be doing one.
We will be hosting the Passionate Love Marriage Conference May 6.
I am thinking God is telling me something, especially since when I checked my email one of the companies I blog for sent me the widget below to post from FamilyLife.
This particular widget focuses on Military families. I have said before in my writings that although we are not a military family we have many members of our family and friends who have served and will be serving. We also just found out that in just a few short weeks we will be adding a new family member in marriage who will leave for Afghanistan shortly after nuptials are said. Please keep this young couple in your prayers.
This makes this subject even more and dear to my heart than ever. Military families need our prayers and God's constant guidance.

Would you help get the word out about this program?
  • Spread The Word! Did you or someone you love serve in the military? Help us spread to word and share the app on your Facebook or Twitter! Use hashtag #marriageops ! The more people who realize this is an issue, brings us one step closer to helping more families!
  • Donate! Text OPS to 80888 and donate $10.00 to help our men and women in the military strengthen their marriage by attending an event showcasing The Art of Marriage! Less than the price of two cups of coffee!

MIAMI VINEYARD LIVE CD Review & Giveaway

This album is just FUN!
I will tell you again and again and AGAIN how much we enjoy our music especially Christian music. So anytime I get a chance to review and offer to my readers an album, I jump at it. The MIAMI VINEYARD LIVE CD gives us favorites such as Holy Spirit Come, Lord Reign in Me, Breathe and How Great is Our God that "is filled with many flavors, from Latino claves to gospel two-step to funk and soul to delay-laden rock guitars of modern worship, yet they all work together seamlessly to create a new sound and voice that is authentic and refreshing."
I also LOVE that parts of the songs are bi-lingual.
You can certainly feel the presence of the Lord when you are listening to this LIVE album, I felt like I was worshiping with them!

Miami Live from Vineyard Resources on Vimeo.

Here is more about the CD:
"What happens when a group of 20+ musicians and 10+ songwriters steeped deep in their own musical traditions of Black Gospel, Latin, Caribbean, and Anglo come together to create a new tradition and sound? What happens when the fusion of Black, Anglo, Latino, Caribbean, and Cuban voices unite together to worship in one voice? Among the 2000 people that attend the Miami Vineyard Community Church, there are over a hundred singers, instrumentalists and songwriters that make up its eclectic worship ministry. For one night, these musicians joined together in worship and invited the church to document the sound that is uniquely MIAMI VINEYARD LIVE."
Now, who wants this to add this CD to their collection? All you have to do is fill out the easy Rafflecopter entry form. The only mandatory entry is for you to leave me a comment telling who your favorite Christian artist is.
