Christmas Eve Gift Tradition 2011

The annual tradition at our nest before the Crow children open their presents is to deliver something from themselves to others.
Our Christmas Eve Gift to the neighbors has been going on now for four years!
Each year Braden and Kaybrie don their nicest clothes and their Santa hats and take off either by wagon, foot, or car to deliver the goods!

They weren't the only ones delivering today- thank you USPS for all you do!

Look at my sweet babies, I love seeing how they change from year to year- side by side!

Knocking on the doors!

Checking out who is next on their list!
Merry Christmas to All from Our Nest to Yours!

Elf on a Shelf with The 4-Crow's Link Up: Day 22, Charley Steals a BIG Kiss

I received a BIG Kiss from one of my students for Christmas.
Miss Crow was bound and determined that she was going to eat it.
It was still in the box when she went to bed. It looks like Mr. Charley might be trying to steal a big kiss from someone....

Elf on a Shelf with The 4-Crow's Link Up: Day 21, Charley Guards Against the Mice

Eeeek...We have mice!!!
15 mice invaded our house last night and Charley evidently found one of my unfinished Diet Coke's and stood guard all night to make sure they didn't move off of the table!
I bet he will be relieved when we take them to Kaybrie's class to give away for Christmas.
He likes the line, "Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse."
Who doesn't?

Elf on a Shelf with The 4-Crow's Link Up: Day 19, Charley Feeds & Rides the Reindeer

Charley found Rudolf & Clarice.
He decided that they were hungry and then needed to get them ready for the  BIG flight night with a little exercise!
We've had our reindeer food forever. Braden made it in kindergarten and I just love the little poem on it.

Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home.

The bag is getting low, its time to add some more oats and sequins to our bags, but to make it safer for the birds we can just add glitter and colored sugar sprinkles.

Elf on a Shelf with The 4-Crow's Link Up: Day 18, Charley's Checks Out the Princess Tent

We celebrated Christmas with the Crow side of the family on Sunday and Kaybrie came home with a princess tent!
She is going to be really mad when she finds out that Charley got to sleep in it and she didn't!
I think pink and purple just might be his colors!

Elf on a Shelf with The 4-Crow's Link Up: Day 15, Charley is Monkeying Around

Here we come, walking down the street
We get the funniest looks from everyone we meet.

Hey, hey, we're The Monkey's  4-Crow's
And people say we monkey around,
But we're too busy singing
To put anybody down.

Hey hey we're The Monkey's 4-Crow's!!
So as you can see, we are doing a bit of monkeying around at the nest on Day 15!
Charley found the Sock Monkey's!

Elf on a Shelf with The 4-Crow's Link Up: Day 14, Charley hides in Mrs. Sinclair's Wreath

Charley is all nestled in comfy in a very "filtered" hiding space today on Kaybrie's door.
He is in the center of a wreath made by fellow RHOK Star, Mrs. Sinclair.
This wreath is the neatest and prettiest ever- it's made of coffee filters.
It became an annual Christmas fixture in our nest last year when Mrs. Hart won stole it a The RHOK's Pigtails and PJ Christmas Party!
We love unique Christmas treasures around our nest!

Charley has decided to UP his game.
He is climbing a little higher out of his kid's reach and sight.
He is looking out BELOW at all the happenings at our nest right now- especially a certain book report that is not getting done very timely and is due on Friday!!
(you can't tell but he is on top of the shelf in the kitchen, so Charley really is an elf on the shelf)

I guess Grandma should have bought TWO Razorback Pillow Pets...
Braden went to bed with his new present and woke up without it- but I am pretty sure the tooth fairy left him something under his other pillow!

Elf on a Shelf with The 4-Crow's Link Up: Day 9, Charley Hides in the Poinsettia and some Poinsettia Facts

Think the kids will find Charley here? He blends in pretty well, I think.
Don't you just love poinsettias?
Here are a few facts:
Poinsettias are the most popular houseplant in the world. Really?
Every Christmas season, Americans buy more than $200 million worth of the festive plants.
Poinsettias were originally brought to the United States in 1820 by Joel R. Poinsett, the U.S. ambassador to Mexico. National Poinsettia Day is Monday, December 12th, Braden's birthday!
So go get yourself a Poinsettia!

Elf on a Shelf with The 4-Crow's Link Up: Day 6, Charley Gets a Glimpse of the True Meaning of Christmas

Charley decided that he needed to get a glimpse at what Kaybrie was playing so intensely with these past few days.
The TRUE meaning of Christmas.

"See, a virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel," which means, "God with us." Matthew 1:23

Hallmark Book Giveaway: What's Shakin' in Snowflake City?

My favorite gift every Christmas to give is a book.
Not just any book either, a Hallmark book.
This year will mark the 8th installment of the Snowglobe family, the Snowfarkles.
I give these books to my Moma, my sister and my sister in law, and of course keep one for my family to enjoy every Christmas Season.

This holiday series from Hallmark is written by Cheryl Hawkinson and Illustrated by Mike Esberg.
"What's Shakin' in Snowflake City?" is all about the weather in Snowflake where the Snowfarkles live, but what exactly causes such crazy snowstorms? Can the Snowfarkles guess before Santa arrives?

You can purchase your own copy of this book and many more gifts at your local Hallmark store or online at Hallmark.com. There is currently a special in-store offer, while supplies last on this particular book that if you purchase 3 Hallmark cards, the price is $3.95- a savings of $6!
(boxed cards and gift enclosures do not count toward the 3 cards)

The 4-Crow's along with Hallmark have teamed up to give one of our readers our favorite Christmas gift this year. Their very own copy of "What's Shakin' in Snowflake City?".

Disclosure: All opinions stated are my own and based upon my own personal experience. This giveaway is sponsored by Hallmark. I will receive no compensation for this post. The giveaway ends at 12:01 AM on December 15, 2011. The winner will be selected through Rafflecopter and will be contacted via email.

Elf on a Shelf with The 4-Crow's Link Up: Day 5, Charley Takes a Ride on a Big Green Tractor

...and I can take you for a ride on my big green tractor
We can go slow or make it go faster
Down through the woods and out to the pasture
'Long as I'm with you it really don't matter...

Yes the American Country Awards were on last night. Jason Aldean must have performed or won something.
I only got to see some of it and had to DVR the rest, we had basketball practice.
Charley knows my kids well.

#Smurftastic Party

While brother was celebrating his 11th birthday this past weekend in Bedlam style with five friends, Miss Kaybrie got to Smurf it up with her own party and celebrate her GIFT for HIS birthday-
The SMURF's Movie!!
She invited a few friends over to join her watch the movie, color, play games and eat SmurfStyle!
The event was coordinated with the help of Crowdtap, who provided the links for the games, color sheets and some of the fantastic ideas for the party!
We really had a Smurfalicious great time. We served white cupcakes with blue icing on pink plates of course and Smurfberry Punch (Hawaiian Punch- Berry Blue Typhoon)! The 11 year old boys in attendance at the FOOTBALL party were more interested in the Smurf food than the food I bought for their party! LOL!
As an added bonus, we even had Movie Props of Smurfs loaned to me by a friend. The kids felt like they were at a real live movie premier. They had so much fun posing with the figures.
Okay, Okay, I will show you the pictures now!

The Smurfalicious Cupcakes on the Cupcake Stand surrounded by Smurfs
A closer look at those cupcakes- Papa Smurf is on the lookout!
Awww...look at our guests striking a pose with our movie props!! C-ute!
The 11 year old boys getting in on the action!! What is it with boys and blue?
Oh, they just thought they were being silly...
I love catching a picture when they don't know it!
The big boys had the table, so the girls got the rug. They didn't care!
Little Miss Hostess with the Mostest!
Striking a Pose with the Smurfs!
(Believe me I have tons more pics, but I don't want to overload you)
Don't forget to go see our Elf on a Shelf, Charley & Smurfette- he didn't get left out!
Everyone had a great time at the party and we can't wait to do one again!
