MckLinky Monday: My Favorite CrockPot Recipe

Today at The RHOK we are sharing our favorite CrockPot recipes! I am a CrockPot hoarder Diva, I own THREE of these wonderful appliances! Actually one was just returned back to The Crow's Nest this weekend after a year long visit with a dear friend. My newest one I got for Christmas this past year- it has a timer! So, what is my favorite recipe? Taco Soup! Easy, filling, and good for those dieting and those who aren't, well they will never know!

Taco Soup
3 cans pinto beans
3 cans diced tomatoes
1 can mild Rotel
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranch Mix
1 lb lean ground beef browned & drained

Put all ingredients in pot. Cook on high until simmering, about 4 hours. Then serve with your favorite toppings such as tortilla chips, cheese or sour cream. Without the toppings 1C = 3 Weight Watchers Points.
Now it's your turn to share your favorite recipe with The Housewives and our readers. Please go to
The RHOK and link up! We love to eat and definitely love to try new dishes!

My Friday Confession

Okay, I'm gonna try out this little meme...I'm gonna get it all out into the open m'kay. Confess my little big sin for the week and tell the blogosphere all about it!

Are you ready?
I bought Girl Scout Cookies.
$24 worth. That would be 6 boxes. Only 4 were for The 4-Crow's, see I'm smart like that. The other two went home with my sweet dear MIL, where I am sure she will serve them to her guest this week and next with coffee. Yeah she's nice about things like that.
Guess how many boxes are now left at my house?
ZERO. None. Zilch. Nada.
Now you wanna guess how many cookies I ate?
I'll do better than that, I'll just show you the box and will spare you and I the nutritional information!
So much for being down to 160lbs by April 15th- and it was 15 cookies!

Now I'm sure there are a lot, lot more confessions that I need to make but this one is the biggest one weighing on my hips right now. Oh, and did you know that there is a recipe similar to the Samoas, which by the way just celebrated its 35th anniversary and is one of the top selling cookies including the Thin Mints- which I've eaten a few of also...
So in addition to the 6 snow diet blowing days we just had, I just wasted another 5 days on a $4 purple box!
And no, the box of cookies really didn't make me that happy!!!

MckLinky Monday: Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day!
What does it mean to my family. Hmmm...Well this year its a little laid back! Braden went back to school after having a 13 day SNOW BREAK. His Valentine's Party has been postponed until February 25th. What is the school thinking with that one? At least I get to go buy everything 1/2 off or more for his party. Kaybrie missed her Valentine's Party at school on Friday, she was home with the Chicken Pox. I guess the "spots" started on Wednesday but were not confirmed by a doctor until Thursday night. Since she had been vaccinated, the pox were very mild and very unlike the old time ones that covered, itched, scabbed and caused fever. I did manage to grab Braden an iTunes card and Kaybrie a Valentine Barbie along with everyone a card finally when I ran into the grocery store after finding out Kaybrie had to stay away from everyone though. I mean really, after two snowstorms, 20" of snow and a sickness, holidays are really
not the first thing on your mind.
So, today is finally Valentine's Day, like I said Braden went to school, Kaybrie was allowed to go back to school, and I was also allowed to go back to work- yes, allowed! Working with infants, means that the childcare worker can't be a carrier either. Oh, and Jason had the day off- he worked Saturday!
So how did my Sweetheart and I celebrate our love for each other?

We exchanged cards!!!
(He went to Wal-Mart at 7:45 this morning)

He made me cry. Did he make you?

And of course he reads his first- we kiss, then I read mine- we kiss!

Now you know all the mushy stuff thanks to those nosy Housewives at The RHOK!! Don't you just love us?
Won't you tell us how you spend your Valentine's Day?

MckLinky Monday: Pet Peeves

So I'm on a search for my Top 5 Pet Peeves!
Hmmm....

"Pet peeves often involve specific behaviors of someone close, such as a spouse or significant other. These behaviors may involve disrespect, manners, personal hygiene, relationships, and family issues. A key aspect of a pet peeve is that it may well seem acceptable to others." - thank you Wikipedia!
If your drinking glass is empty, DO NOT rattle the ice at another person indicating to them to get you something to drink.

If you have idle time at work, find something to do. DO NOT work crossword puzzles while your co-workers are working around you.

Swimming serviceware- Yuck! After you serve your food, make sure the serviceware/spoon is safely resting on the side of the bowl or place it in a spoon rest.

Stovetop Spoon Dish and Stand (Does not include ladle)

The RHOK takes Full Moon

The Real Housewives of Oklahoma aka The RHOK took over the back tables of the Full Moon Cafe in Tulsa on January 28, 2011. The occasion? GNO and dueling pianos of course!
We met at 7, chatted, giggled and ate and then at 9 the playing, singing and silliness began! Lots of Johnny Cash, a baaaad version of Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar", a little Hokey Pokey, and a battle of college fight songs- yes I even got to call my Hogs-no one heard!
Today we housewives along with the readers who were there are sharing our pictures and experiences from the Full Moon RHOK Out on our personal blogs as well as The RHOK! Most of my pictures have already been posted on facebook. If you do not already "like" The RHOK Facebook site, please do. That is where we post all of daily posts and important information. It is also how we get the list to invite you personally to our RHOK Outs! Believe me we I have a lot of fun laughing at everyone and their crazy antics!
(I better be careful what I say because I know there are a few open mouth and non-tramp stamp shots out there somewhere)
The Housewives- missing Mrs. Sinclair and Mrs. Priss (in body- but if you look closely you can see Flat Baloney being held by Mrs. Albright)
The Dueling Pianos- these guys were great!

The Great Snowmageddon

January 2011 went out with a blast and we met February 2011 with nothing but WHITE!
13" inches of snow at our house! Schools across Oklahoma were cancelled before the clouds even had a chance to drop any onto the ground, that is how sure the forecasters were of this Winter Blast!
People are calling it a Snowmageddon 2011, LOL!
Might be, the car lots even shut down- Daddy Crow was called and told to stay home, guess the parts selling will have to wait until after the storm ;-)!

Jason trying to clear the garage so we can maybe get our cars out- no luck!

Part drift, part what he did manage to get shoveled and swept of the drive.

The shovel...
...yep, just a little over 13 inches- Yikes!
