The Elf on the Shelf®: A Birthday Tradition #TheElfOnTheShelfBirthday

Look who paid a visit at our nest yesterday in a fantabulous birthday suit, wishing ME a Happy 39th Birthday, she wanted to start my 40th year off with a wonderful surprise!!! Malia Peppermint Pattie!

I am pretty sure all of my readers know that the Crow's love "All things Elf on the Shelf"- that's the name of my Pinterest board. We even have an annual Elf on a Shelf link up at Christmas time, where we ask you to share a collage or individual pictures of what your scout elf/elves have been doing around your home during the Christmas season. Stay tuned, we begin year three November 29 with a post each Friday and end on December 26th.

Miss K always wants to know what Malia Peppermint Pattie and Charley are doing, she always wants them to visit. How fun is it going to be now that Malia will visit on our birthdays? I was so excited when I was contacted by the North Pole and asked to review The Elf on the Shelf®: A Birthday Tradition which released on October 22.

Birthdays are the number two (after Christmas, of course!) most requested time for The Elf on the Shelf® to visit, so Santa has given special permission to the scout elves to visit their families to celebrate their birthdays! The creators of the bestselling holiday tradition are so excited to announce the long awaited sequel to The Elf on the Shelf®: A Christmas Tradition.

The Elf on the Shelf®: A Birthday tradition tells the little-known story of the North Pole tradition and includes special instructions for families to invite their scout elf for a birthday visit. The book is so beautiful, we read it the night before my birthday and were really surprised by our scout elf my birthday morning.

$1 from every copy sold of The Elf on the Shelf®: A Birthday Tradition will be donated to the non-profit organization charity: water. “Clean water is fundamental to family wellness,” says Pitts, “and women and children bear the greatest cost of this global crisis. We’re proud to be able to be part of this powerful initiative.” For more information, please visit: www.charitywater.org.

It was sad to say goodbye to Malia as always, but Thanksgiving night is only 37 days away!!!

A Very Pinteresting Christmas: The 12-12-12 Birthday Boy

Today's A Very Pinteresting Christmas with The 4-Crow's is a little outside of Christmas. You see, I have to take a break from thinking about trees, decorations, food etc, to celebrate my son's birthday.
Today is a special birthday. He turns 12 on 12-12-12. Not only his Golden Birthday, but also a day that none of us will probably see again, the next time 12-12-12 rolls around it will be in the year 2112. Braden will be 112 and I will be 138. Kind of puts things in perspective doesn't it?

12-12-00. See I told you he was perfect!

I'll be honest, 12 years ago when I scheduled to be induced on this day, I never looked ahead or even thought about the date. What was I thinking about 12 years ago today? Anxiously awaiting the arrival of my precious baby boy. I was induced at 6:30 that morning, the audience included my Moma, sister, and my 19 month old niece Jadyn. All day long, we waited in great anticipation, while watching the ice storm of 2000 outside Mercy Memorial Hospital in OKC. We had many phone calls that day, including my SIL, who was also at a nearby hospital w/ my nephew Seth, he was still in the hospital after his premature birth August 18. And then, at 8 PM, I knew it was time. We begin the counting literally, Jadyn, my niece who was 19 months old that day, learned to count to 10 that night! At 8:20, I delivered the most beautiful baby boy in the world. 7lbs 9oz and 19 inches long. Now 12 years later, he weighs in at 121 lbs is 5'8" and is active in football, basketball and video games!
My 12 year old little man! Still just as perfect and handsome!

For this special birthday, we are having a party. He has invited his friends- boys & girls! We chose CiCi's- I decided that I might be able to fill up some 12 year olds there with dinner & video games. I asked the guests that if they wanted to bring a gift to bring it by the DOZEN! The most creative will be given a special prize! We will also be doing  photo booth pics. I can't wait to see the fun pics! I found these two sites on Pinterest and made my own props.

I also made my own DOZEN gift, inspired of course by Pinterest. I made it a LOT differently though. I only wanted 12 items in it so I couldn't make it according to their directions.

Items needed:
Six 12 oz Dr. Pepper's
Six pack of Snickers Bars
One 16.9 oz bottle of Dasani
Ribbon
Tape
Scissors
Curly Ribbon
Candles
Cake board

I put the Dasani bottle cap end down in the middle of the cake board. Arranged the Dr. Pepper around it. Then taped the Snickers onto the Dasani bottle. I stuck the curly ribbon down in the top and taped the ribbon around the bottom of both layers. Easy Peasy. I did make a girly bow on top and hot glued the 12 candles on. I hope he doesn't mind.

I promise I will post pics of the celebration later in the week. Be sure you leave a comment or stop by my Facebook page and wish my little man a Happy Birthday!

Fabulously Five

Our littlest Crow turned FIVE yesterday! Oh my how time flies!
Five years ago our family was made complete- a beautiful 7lb 8oz, brown eyed, brown curly haired princess was given to us by God to love and raise. She gave us a little scare in the beginning when she didn't cry, but once they made her she has let her voice be known ever since!
We love you Kaybrie Jayne Crow!
We pray that this year is Fabulous just like you!

I just had to share her latest pictures that were taken at school- aren't they the sweetest?
Perfect for our little princess, right?

The dessert table at her birthday party!
The hot cocoa bar!
The lollipops I made- yes, I love Pinterest!
She saw an infomercial on TV the Saturday before her party- she had to have cake pops!
Thankfully I have a friend who has a George Foreman like cake ball/pop maker! Thank you Sarah B.
The BEST Birthday present in the WORLD...an American Girl Doll!
Meet Kayleigh
(this might just be THE name, its last for two days now)

Yes, I think she had a pretty Fabulous 5th Birthday and we look forward to all the changes that this next year bring to us...only six more months until Kindergarten!
BooHoo!

Wear Your Tiara & Gown

Kaybrie our little Princess, seven other little princesses and a grown up princess donned their tiaras and gowns on Saturday to celebrate her 4th birthday! Oh what pretty princesses they were and what a wonderful time they had playing together. I can only imagine what it would have been like had they had a grand ballroom and a huge castle with lots and lots of rooms to run and play in!
Here she is before the party, she is doing this new tilt of the head pose for pictures thing with a no teeth smile!
Our little Princess Aurora holding her Tangled Baby Doll
The Birthday Princess and The Grown Up Princess- Kaybrie's cousin Ashley. The little girls all had their pictures made with the beautiful princess.
Something was obviously very funny to Kaybrie in this picture!
The princesses are checking out each others shoes, so cute and girly!
One of Kaybrie's many gifts, this one was from us- an original Gerber Babydoll from 1979, it was in the box w/ tags still on it. (an Etsy find for $30- these dolls are not made any more and can be sold for as high as $200, I will blog about the importance of this doll later- stay tuned)
The cupcakes- Kaybrie always picks white cake and strawberry icing, this year she wanted sprinkles!

I can only imagine what all the little girls dreamed of that night. My prayer is that they all will all grow up and be as smart and beautiful on the inside as well as the outside, just like Ashley. It is fun and so innocent to play dress-up and to be a princess. An imagination is a great thing to have, just like great friends. It makes my heart smile that all of these little friends could come to Kaybrie's 4th Birthday Party and celebrate with us!
